BKK city Bangkok what to do
and Bangkok where to go.
The capital of Thailand
one of the best Asian
metropolis by any means,
the city became the Siam
capital after the Burmese
destroyed the former capital
Ayutthaya in 1767.
A great oriental travel
destination which has it all what a traveler to the east is
after. Excellent hotels, great sightseeing, good, diverse
and exotic food and one of the best nightlife on earth. The first encounter
probably will be via Suvarnabhumi, the new airport. Your second
destination could be Sukhumvit or Silom area where plenty of
hotels are and the BTS Skytrain
runs as elevated train in the middle of the road. This is an almost
ideal combination considering the permanent traffic chaos in
the city. To come to town from Suvarnabhumi airport use the new
Airport Link.
Sukhumvit road is also
one of the best shopping area and several nightspots are
along the street such as Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, other
nightlife places are Patpong, Thaniya Plaza and
opposite is a nightlife area dedicated to the gay community.
Bangkok hotels are easy to find especially in the 4 star
hotel category means room rates around Baht
2000,-. There are also some 5 star hotels and probably the
top of Bangkok hotels is a little to the west on the
riverfront, its the Oriental. In general take a hotel which
is not far from the
BTS Skytrain, this elevated
train runs along Sukhumvit and Silom
road with two branches, one is into Sathon road and the
extension is to to further west. The problem is they stop at
Wongwian Yai since three years instead of extending this to
the southern bus terminal, who is sleeping? chraa chraa,
non, non, since all the construction is in place since 2
years.
Along Sathon
are many big banks and most embassies are also in the
vicinity. Plus serviced apartments
are easily accessible, the other branch "skytrain" line is
Sukhumvit line along Sukhumvit road and up to the north bus
terminal at Mo Chit the other end is Ekkamai close to the
southern bus terminal.
Bangkok travel
is easy especially with all this
cheap and expensive hotels, every one get what he or she
likes. If you have enough, travel from
Bangkok to Phuket. The city has everything a top Asia travel
destination needs. Attractions, shopping, nightlife, culture,
hotels of absolute top level but also cheap hotels and friendly people.
Something dangerous is definitely not existent until you
create your own danger or run around at the hot spot when a
coup is under way, which is rather seldom and if it is stay
away from that area. Also very
important is the crime rate where foreigners are the victims
is very low. Compared to other places like Rio, Paris, south
Africa and
elsewhere its almost non existent, that means serious
crimes, not talking about the taxi or tuk tuk driver who try
to cheat etc.. There is a permanent traffic chaos on the
roads.
Bangkok travel has been much better organized
in recent years
and since the implementation of the BTS "Skytrain"
and a underground light train system called subway,
easy to move around. When travel to BKK keep
this under consideration when choosing a hotel. The
"Skytrain" runs east-west along Sukhumvit, Silom
Road and Sathon Road all the way to the east over
the river and close to the southern bus
terminal. The north south runs from Mo Chit with the
northern bus terminal close to the before mentioned
southern bus terminal. The problem is that both bus
terminals are still a few km away which means it
needs a taxi ride. The subway runs on a different
routing but joins the BTS at Sala Deang
Station with is close to the Patpong, Silom area,

BKK City
has a subway system and the BTS Skytrain
lines for quick travel
through town. If you want to do it "rustically" take a
"motocyc"
taxi for the very quick way. Forget normal car taxis, they
wont come through traffic and use all kind of tricks to pull
money from you. If you are bored after a while take a bus for Pattaya or
Bangkok to Phuket
and you end up on one of the beaches
of southern Thailand. If you rather prefer lush
tropical, huge lakes and the blue mountains, take a
bus to Kanchanaburi or Chiang Mai, for Bangkok what
to do, the answer is travel.
BKK City
The airport has a capacity to
handle around 70 flights per hour but the bottleneck is the
immigration which already have a major problem to handle
when passengers when two jumbos come in within 15 minutes,
that's the same when departing. Travelers, tourists and
business people find some of the best hotels of the world in
the city.\
Airport or Suvarnabhumi
is probably your first contact with Thailand, a new
modernistic gigantic construction which is great in
terms of architecture but not so great in terms of
organization, means very long ways to most gates and
endless cues in front of immigration counters
because even rush hour only about half of the
counters are open plus some bureaucratic hurdles
with their computer system.
Singapore Changi
is much better organized in particular the
distributed terminals which are also the same at
Kuala Lumpur Airport
are a much better idea how to easy traffic flow and
easiness for the passenger. A very positive
impression is the Thai Art which decorates the walls
of the walkways to the gates, read

Bangkok transport
That's the main transportation hub for traveling in the country. Flights into
the city are available from
dozens of cities worldwide. When you arrive and your
flight to Bangkok Thailand has ended you will see a visual symphony in glass,
concrete and steel. There are connections via the airport link to the city and air links to almost
everywhere in Thailand. Several Bangkok bus lines
start from the airport, including to Pattaya and to
the Cambodian border at Aranyaprathet, read
more.
The Bangkok Airport Link
brought a great improvement how to come and go to
the airport. Now it is a predictable trip of about
20 minutes from the city center BTS
Phayathai
Station to Suvarnabhumi, but the same problem, a
great construction, great idea but badly managed.
The train intervals are much too long with the
result that there to many passengers compacting and
squeezing into the wagons, read

Bangkok
what to do
BKK Patpong is the "mother of all
go go bars strip and Thai bar girls",
with dozens
of go go bars at BKK city on both side of the street including
restaurants, shops and one of the best open air
night market in the city. People on a visit to the
city should visit this place, don't turn up your nose
because this is real life and the people employed
there including the bar girls don't have the luxury
of a social welfare system to supply money to the
person when not working. Patpong are actually two
roads and at both ends of the larger street are
people from the Thai tourist police to help if
trouble strikes. At the
Surawong end is a small
house (police box) and at the
Silom end, usually is
a minibus parked, there is also female police to
make it easier for ladies when they have problems,
more.
Bangkok
nightlife
is the
"real thing" for everyone who want
to enjoy a great evening, it has
different variants. There are beer
bars, there are hotel bars, there is
cabaret, dancing shows, there are
dinner cruises on the Chao Phraya
River. If you are a single male
traveler or maybe a group at a "
Stag Party" you will probably
explore the go go bars nightlife
scene, life show clubs and similar.
There are plenty of Bangkok Bar
Girls at that places who try to make
you happy, or if you are an
adventurous type, what about some
games with a genuine Bangkok Ladyboy
or visiting the gay scene at
Surawong opposite Thaniya Plaza and
many more, this is for sure one of
the great tourist
attractions in the
city and in Thailand in general,
bringing millions of male travelers
to have some good days. Supporting
this is a
wide spectrum of
accommodation
including some of
the best hotels in
the world, read
more.
Bangkok bars
are famous for the varieties,
there are go go bars, Bangkok bar
girls bars, ladyboy bars, beer bars
and sport bars among others. There
are great bars in the Bangkok
Luxury
Hotels and at various restaurants in
the city. Some are themed bars, some
are fusion bars and some are in the
foyer of massage parlors to sit
down, watch the girls behind the
glass and take some time to make a
choice. There are also roadside bars
for a quick beer from the
refrigerator or some street food.
Street food is a way of handling a
low
budget vacation but leads almost
always, sooner or later, into a
disaster with the stomach which is
logical. The price for this food is
very low, which is good, but on the
other hand it also means low
quality. But the real problem is a
hygienic one, anyway, Bangkok bars
are a great way to relax and get you
through a pleasant evening, read

Bangkok Night
Market at BKK city.
A Bangkok night
market
is for sure an
attractive place to
visit, there are
plenty of goods for
very low prices,
after some
bargaining they get
cheap. Best buys is
clothing, shoes,
handbags and other
items made in
Thailand. As long as
you stick to locally
made goods Bangkok
shopping is a real
pleasure. There are
myriads of street
markets and shopping
malls. If you like
flower have a look
at one the flower
market for some
beautiful
Thai orchids.
At BKK city they have marvelous
Thai orchids in the
pot and / or as
orchid bouquets
with a little water
container attached
to the bottom of the
stem, this way the
orchid
will be ok for one
or 2 weeks. Just
take the orchids to
your Bangkok hotel
and have attractive
orchid colors
everyday, read

Bangkok markets
are
almost always just
around the corner.
This are street
markets, pavement
markets, markets
within a shopping
mall and at almost
every available
space they squeeze
in with their market
trolleys, in
particular with
street food. There
are several famous
markets in the city,
probably the best
known are the
floating markets.
Another one is
Chatuchak weekend
market where people
from other Bangkok
markets go, e.g.
Patpong Night Market
etc., to buy their
stock.
The best
market for clothing
and textiles in
general is at
Pratunam
Bangkok Shopping.
Close by are several
of the biggest
Bangkok shopping
malls such as
Central World, MBK
and Siam Paragon,

Bangkok Market at
BKK city
BKK
has myriads of hotels
of various
levels. If you come to the city the best
is probably anyway to take accommodation around Sukhumvit or Silom since most attractions are
around somewhere in that area, which includes a
vibrant nightlife and excellent hotels such
as the Luxury Four Season Hotel and the 4 star Plaza
Hotel at Surawong road close to Silom and Sathon
road with quick access to the
Skytrain
and the subway line at Silom Sala Deang. If you want more
try the Oriental Hotel, a icon in the city for
several decades. But that’s only a glimpse into the hotel
scene, there are at least 500 more. One more amazing thing is,
almost everything which is not imported is low
priced like almost everywhere in Thailand. Compared
to Europe, US and similar, the prices of almost
everything, including services are about less than
half, this is naturally not for imported items. Plus
exotic
restaurants and street food and
food bring you exactly what you want. Is it
Thai
food, Indian, Chinese, German, Russian,
etc. maybe some
Mongolian Barbecue, no problem. Mexican food is served,
Swiss food, Austrian food and the usual burger from
Burger King and others.
eating
cockroaches, ants, spider, grasshopper
At
BKK city a exotic meal could be eating rats, cockroaches, ants, spider,
grasshopper, cats and dogs at China town plus the usual
other stuff, who is interested this days in
"cordon bleu" or Swiss cheese fondue, the
real stuff is exotic, if you be admitted to
the emergency afterwards is rather a
evidence for your bravery. Real convincing
that you landed on a special place is a
night in Bangkok, that's the non plus ultra
in terms of
nightlife.
Bangkok pictures are probably the best souvenirs
to bring back home from you vacation to the
kingdom. They are exotic, sometimes strange,
maybe stunning, surely amazing and sometimes
just incredible, its a different world out
there which is visualized in different
optical expressions, read

Bangkok city
covers a
very large
area
with all the
usual
negative
attributes
such as
traffic
chaos high
air
pollution
(which is
correct) and
other. But
the city has
plenty of
other, very
positive
sides. One
of it are
the
diversity of
the
restaurants,
the
incredible
variants of
shopping,
great and
affordable
hotels, a
vibrant
nightlife
with cute
Thai bar
girls and
Thai bar
boys,
probably the
best massage
parlors in
the world
and more.
Bangkok Shopping
is one of the
first tours you probably will do.
This is probably one of
the most exiting things to do in
the city. There are countless
huge shopping centers and
malls including one of Asia biggest
IT mall
Pantip Plaza,
myriads of shops of any kind are
around hundreds of
markets,
including famous floating market,
more.
Best shopping
is around
Siam Square and Sukhumvit on the
intersection with Ratchadamri road
northwards a little bit further is
Pratunam textile market for cheap textile
and clothes in general. Opposite is
Pantip Plaza, all this is
in the vicinity of
Ratchaprasong and
Sukhumvit where the main clashes and
rally of the "red shirt protest in
the city were". At
the same road a bit further to the
west is Pantip Plaza a
great shopping mall for all computer
related items and especially all the
software and movies you ever wanted
to get, there its only about $ 4,-
per DVD. If the DVD wont work they
will replace it for a new one.
Bangkok shopping
Bangkok Shopping at
Pantip Plaza at BKK city
Pantip
Plaza is the premier shopping mall for gadgets, camera and
almost every electronic device for
good prices, together with the VAT
return policy at the airport.at
departure the prices are quite
low. Just before is the Siam World
Mall the former world
trade center and plenty of other
shopping malls such as Siam Paragon
and Siam World, Siam square
is also very
close. The
Peninsular
Plaza
is
about 10
minutes walk
to the
south, its
mainly for
up market
shopping. Jewelry, art
galleries, souvenir
shops, restaurants,
furniture and all
other kind of other
shopping items.
Many jewelry shops
have expensive and
midrange jewelry on
display and if you
want to have this
real exotic piece of
diamond
with some
Burma or
Myanmar ruby
gemstone
or
sapphires
you are just at the right
place.
If you
buy Thai
jewelry
on your
BKK city
shopping
trip over
about
$1000,- hire
a expert for
one or two
hours to go
with you, you need
this
otherwise
you will get
cheated.
Also
beautiful
Thailand
jewelry
in form of
imperial
jade
and
pearl jewelry
is on
display,
real
beautiful
items. All
this will
make sure to
bring the
right eye
catcher home
from your
Thailand
vacation.
Jewelry shops
usually are
in the big
shopping
malls around Ratchaprasong,
and along
Silom Road,
that's about
the same
area where
the "Red
Shirts"
rallied. There
are myriads of night markets which just
pop up after sunset and disappear
around midnight. That's the shopping
time for fake items which are fake
but often as good as the original.
But even the items
which are fake or
rather copied
usually are of good
quality, actually
they often come from
the same factories which also
make the original stuff.
If you
buy anything at a
night market
always try
to get the
goods for
about 30% of
the price
the seller
is asking,
if they
don't agree
move a
little bit further since all this
items for sale are at available at
dozens of similar shops. Probably
one of the most famous night markets is at
Patpong.
Patpong is
one of the red light districts with one
bar after
another and

Patpong
girls.
