Phitsanulok
|
Phitsanulok
is located
in the north
central part
of the
country
around 400
kilometers
from
Bangkok. |

Topography is hilly and flat, the Nan River flows right through the
center of Phitsanulok, with houseboats floating on it The city of
Thailand from 1463 to 1487, the city came to life around 700 years
ago somehow similar to Sukhothai (which is just beside) and Chiang
Mai. Since some traces where found dating back to the Stone Age
indicating people lived there already long before.
Places of
interest are King Narasuan Shrine, Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat
with a huge 36m tall pagoda in Khmer style built during the
Ayutthaya period. There are several waterfalls and national parks in
the province.
The city
is a good starting point to explore the province and have a look to
the historical park at Sukhothai.
There are a lot of good
hotels and exotic restaurants for reasonable prices and a vibrant
Thailand
nightlife along the main road. |
|
If you are out for a night fun don't listen to
the guys at the hotels who only want to move you to a massage parlor
to grab commission.Do it on your own along the main road crossing the town via the big
bridge, real things are going on there after 10 pm. |
